What is the Château Open Garden event?

Since we are a private estate, our space is usually reserved exclusively for photoshoots and private event clients. This RSVP-only Château Open Garden event is a unique opportunity for the public to experience and enjoy our beautiful manicured garden that is usually kept 100% private. During this special occasion, you are free to explore our exquisite grounds in its entirety. If you will be joining for the VIP experience, delicious bites, drinks, music, and fun activities will be provided for your and your friends & families.

Who can attend this Open Garden event?

Everyone is welcome - whether you are a photographer, wedding vendor, engaged client, or someone who just wants to explore our grounds for fun. If you have not been here before and only want a simple visit, we recommend our basic ticket on Thursday, August 1st; if you have visited us before and want a reimagined experience of our heavenly summer garden, please consider the VIP experience on Sunday, August 4th.

What is the main difference between the basic ticket and the VIP ticket?

The basic ticket grants access to our general garden grounds only on Thursday, August 1st from 4pm - 6pm, and no food, drinks, or entertainment will be provided. The VIP ticket grants you an all-inclusive experience on Sunday, August 4th which includes premium appetizers, drinks, live music, and fun activities planned. Can we purchase tickets at the door?

No - this is an exclusive RSVP event that require an advanced ticket purchase, and no ticket will be sold at door. If you arrive at our gate without a corresponding ticket, you will be turned away by our security team.

Is there a dress code?

Yes, the event dress code is summer cocktail attire and dressing up is strongly encouraged. Please see our Suggested Attire page.

Ladies - Please avoid wearing ultra-thin heels as we have a lot of grass on property.

What is the address for the event?

For security reasons, Château de Michellia’s address is not made public, and specific navigation instructions will be provided as part of your ticket purchase confirmation. For timeline planning purposes, we are just a few minutes away from Sprague High School in Salem, Oregon.

Is professional photography / videography allowed?

Recreational photography / videography is allowed for BTS content, but not formal portrait photography of other client(s). This means that we do not allow engagement photo sessions or formal portrait sessions to take place on event days, but you are welcome to capture any candid & organic content on your camera or phone.

What is there to do at the Open Garden event?

The Basic experience on Thursday, August 1st will be completely unguided and you are free to capture any fun BTS content as you wish. For the VIP experience on Sunday, August 4th, there will be food, drinks, live music, farm animal petting, DIY bouquet stations, lawn games etc - you will not be bored! Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks (feel free to bring those cute picnic blankies), but we do not allow your personal alcohol to be consumed on property for this event, so please bring non-alcoholic beverages only.

Can I bring my kids / family members?

Yes, guests of all ages are welcome and our activities are family-friendly! However, please note that a full-priced ticket purchase is required for all individual visitors regardless of age.

Is there parking?

Due to limited parking spaces, carpool is strongly encouraged. If you must drive alone, please bring a smaller vehicle for space saving considerations.
